Earlier this year Vision: 2025 published the Towards Zero Waste Festivals Report and Festival Industry Materials and Waste Briefing to highlight the challenges and opportunities for sustainable waste management at UK greenfield festivals and to provide solutions-focused recommendations for event organisers.
Part of the project was the Citizen Science call out for festival waste data which asked event organisers for basic [anonymous] data to build a better picture, so that we can support festivals with researched practical solutions and shape industry strategy and push for changes that will help all events.
It’s not too late to be part of the data collection project!
We are at the stage of collecting data from events and we’d like to give our community of members the opportunity to ask experts and fellow event organisers questions about collecting waste data as we know it can be challenging. Please feel free to join even to find out more about data collection even if you don’t intend to submit the data. Join the Festival Waste Data Q&A Session: 12:00-13:00, Thursday 7th December
Are you struggling to get clear waste data, understand what it means, or choose what steps to take to increase recycling or reduce waste? Bring your questions to an informal Q&A with experts Christopher Johnson and Livvy Drake & fellow festival organisers.
SIGN UP HERE.
If you have any specific questions you’d like to be addressed email bethan@vision2025.org.uk or bring them along to the session.
Once you’ve signed up we’ll send you out a zoom link / invite ahead of the session.
