The Access All Area’s Conference & Awards attracted several hundred event professionals to London’s O2 Indigo, Dec 5 th 2024. Vision 2025, in partnership with the conference organiser Chris Barrett, curated one of the day’s four panels, framing the significant progress made in 2024, framed against creating a positive direction of travel for 2025 and beyond.
Graham Brown steered a conversation with Ross Patel, Live Green Impact Consultant, Hannah Cox, Better Not Stop and Anna Johnson from Anjunabeats. The panel began with an open question to the audience about which organisers felt they could define the carbon impact of their events, leading into the discussion about what aiming for ‘Net Zero’ means.
The conversation evolved beyond the importance of data collection and analysis focused on carbon impact, into the more philosophical question of a wider moral compass to include social impact. Panellists discussed the opportunities for the event industry to pioneer behavioural trends and attitudes to deliver meaningful change at events and into wider society. The conversation progressed into socio/economic benefits to organisers doing the right thing and opened the door to subsequent explorations into how collaborations across industry sectors can benefit everyone.
Congratulations to all awards winners, particularly Co-op Live for Best Sustainability Initiative, Bridge Creative for The Diversity and Inclusion and From The Fields for Best Promotor categories.
