onboard.earth started life as ‘Energy Revolution’ in 2015 as a festival industry response to COP21 and research* showing that travel typically causes 80% of a festival’s carbon emissions. Founding festival members include; Shambala, Boomtown, Secret Garden Party and Kendal Calling, with support and guidance from Julie’s Bicycle.

onboard.earth aims to work with hundreds of organisations, artists and individuals to move low carbon travel to the heart of live event culture and unite the live events industry in environmental restoration. They tackle thousands of tonnes of travel emissions by funding ecosystem protection and regeneration and community-led, community-benefit clean renewable energy generation.
